Gift Wrapping
*Gift Wrap Collage Place in the center of the table
a supply of gift wrap, tape, stick-on bows, gift ribbon, glue and scissors. Also include a supply of paper
(tag board, card board, shoe box lids, construction paper and small boxes) for the children to use to glue their collage to.
*Bow Stringing Get a supply of gift bows and wrapping ribbon. Have the children
string the bows onto the gift ribbon. *Bow Sorting Get a supply of gift
bows and sorting containers. Have the children sort the bows by color and sizes. *Bow Patterning When the children are done using
the bows for sorting have them make bow patterns on sentence strips. They make a great boarder for your
bulletin boards.
*Wrapping Place in the center of the table a supply of gift wrap, tape and scissors. Have
the children wrap different sizes of boxes. Sit back and watch the fun begin.
*Wrapping Paper Patterning Find holiday wrapping paper with AB patterns or other patterns that you
can find in the wrap. Cut out that length of paper with the pattern on it and glue to a strip of paper.
Laminate for durability. Next cut out the shapes from that wrapping paper and laminate for durability.
Set the wrapping paper shapes next to the pattern strips have the children extend the pattern next to the pattern strip.
Setting Up the Environment Dramatic Play Turn
your dramatic play area into a gift wrapping story. Place a supply of gift wrap, tape, scissors, boxes
and bows in the area. Add a cash register, price list, play money and gift wrapping apron.
