Kids World Lesson Plans

Kids World Exploration is a weekly lesson plan for preschool teachers and day care providers.  These lessons are divided into weekly themes that will enable children to acquire information, and learning concepts through meaningful hands on activities.  Children in your program will be given the opportunity to engage in meaningful, purposeful play through exploitation.  All of the weekly plans will give children a variety of experiences in language, literacy, math, and science, art, physical, social and emotional.  Happy Hands are learning hands.

Kids World Exploration lessons will open the door for teachers to write a meaningful curriculum that is thoughtfully planned, challenging, and engaging to the individual children in each classroom environment.  Teachers will be able to plan a comprehensive curriculum that address all aspects of the child's developmental areas of need, social, emotional, cognitive, math, literacy, language, and physical development.

While using these plans teachers will have the opportunity to observe children as they participate, explore, and interact naturally with real objects.  They will help free up time so that teachers will be able to collect meaningful anecdotal notes, photos, work samples, and other evidence that will help show each child's skill and behaviors.  In order to meet all State Standers and Assessment tools.

Circle Time/Large Group

You and the children will learn fun interactive songs, finger play, flannel board stories, group games, and movement activities.  This time of the day is also a wonderful time to introduce children to the world of books.  All of these activities will relate to the theme of the week, which will be cared throughout the environment and learning areas.

Small Group/Child Choice

Every child needs to have choices.  Kids World Exploration encourages teachers to give their preschool children many different hands on experiences, especially during small group.  Each weekly lesson is packed full of ideas for small group activities giving the children three different choices everyday of the week.  Children will be encouraged to move freely through out the activities, giving them plenty of opportunity to explore.  After children are done using them for the small group activity teachers are encouraged to place the material into the learning environment so that the children can continue observing, manipulating, and interacting with the real objects, which will lead to a fuller understanding of the immediate world around them.

Movement, Games and Activities

Kids World Exploration will give attention to all areas of gross motor development.  There are activities to encourage the development of balance, rhythm, coordination, and the discovery of space.

Hands on Science

Kids World Exploration looks at science as a way of teaching children to “experience” science.  To think about a problem and to explore all the possible answers.  The science activities are designed to be open-ended and hands on for children to experience, explore and learn about their world.

Setting up the Environment

Children spend long hours in early childhood programs.  Kids World Exploration will help assure that classroom environments are a live learning environment.

Young children’s understanding and learning happens as they explore, investigate and discuss concepts.  That is why classroom environments are so important.  Kids World Exploration will help teacher and day care providers, provide a meaningful experience.

Environments need to be

·           A welcoming place

·           A great place to be

·           A place for learning

·           A place of beauty

·           A creative environment that is designed for hands on experiences

·           A place to be a child

Environments where children can learn through observation, exploration, verbalization, hands-on experiences and playful experiences are places where children can be children.  These environments provide the best possible influences on children’s development.
